Overview

Why do some changes fail while other succeed? Success is not found in excellent project management alone, or even the best solution to a problem. Successful change is rooted in some something much simpler: how to facilitate change with one person.

ADKAR is a framework for understanding change at the individual level, the people side of change. The model has five elements, listed below. These are the building blocks for successful change — the elements must occur in sequence and are cumulative.
